UMCOR stands for the United Methodist Committee on Relief.  UMCOR collects hygiene, school and cleaning kits for distribution within the United States.  Kits help sustain everyday life for people who lack ready access to essential supplies when a disaster strikes.  By partnering with UMCOR, we as a congregation are able to reach out to those in need in our local community and beyond. 

Pot Luck and UMCOR EVENT

November 19th, 5:00 pm

Join us on November 19th as we gather together for a Potluck meal and then prepare to pack flood buckets and hygiene kits that will be delivered to those in Florida and Puerto Rico hit by the most recent hurricanes.

We have a list of items that you can help donate to fill these buckets.  UMCOR has specific items that they know families will need so that is why the list is so specific.  Any questions you can contact Marcia Essen at

Cleaning Kit & Hygiene Kit Items to Donate:

  • Liquid household cleaner: 12-16 oz that can be mixed with water, no spray cleaners please.
  • Can Air freshener: aerosol or pump
  • Insect repellant spray: 6-14 oz with protective cover
  • Scrub brush: plastic or wooden handle
  • Cleaning wipes: (18 per bucket) Handi Wipes or reusable wipes.  No terry cleaning towels or pull out types.  Please remove from packaging.
  • Scouring pads: (5 per bucket)  Please remove from wrapper, no stainless steel, Brillo or SOS pads (nothing with soap built in)
  • Clothesline: (One 100 ft or two 50 ft lines per bucket) can be cotton or plastic.
  • Nail file or clippers:  metal please and no emery boards
  • Bath-size soap:  3 oz or larger sizes only, No Ivory or Jergens soap due to moisture content, do not remove original packaging.  
  • Toothbrush:  Do not remove from original packaging.  If they come in pairs just tear them apart, so there is only one per kit.  
  • Plastic bag:  One box gallon size that is sealable.
