Nothing is Impossible

It is time for God's people to unite and declare that NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE for our God! Sugarloaf has been through a tremendous journey since being founded close to twenty years ago. The first weekend of February 2016 will be a time to celebrate what God has done, is doing and what God will do in this place. The weekend will be a time of Worship, Growing, Serving and Giving. With five sessions offered, you will not want to miss out on any of the wonderful messages, special worship services, the Stop Hunger Now mission event and growing in community at Sugarloaf UMC.

Rev. Jim Ozier will be the guest speaker and a guest worship team, led by Elliott DeJarnett, will lead the Friday and Saturday worship services. You can learn more about each of these special folks below.

Jim Ozier, Guest SPeaker

Preacher, Coach and Business Consultant...

Jim has led a church to new heights, and currently serves as the Director of New Church Development in North Texas. A man of vision and impact Jim has not only seen a great deal he has led a congregation into a new level of ministry and outreach to its community. In 1990 Jim Ozier followed the founder of a 7-year-old church, Trietsch Memorial UMC in Flower Mound, Texas. In his role as the second pastor for this young congregation, he learned first-hand how difficult the transition of pastoral leadership can be when a church has never done it before! When he left nearly 18 years later, the church had grown to more than 4,000 members and helped birth 3 new congregations.

Jim’s wife, Suzanne, is a retired Special Education teacher. They live in Irving, Texas.

Elliot Dejarnett, Guest Worship Leader

Elliott grew up as a missionary kid in the Suburbs of Paris, France. His parents were always involved in music ministry and  they inspired him to start leading worship in high school at their home church in Marietta, Ga. In college while serving at the UGA Wesley Foundation, he felt the call on his life to serve the Church as a worship pastor and he has been doing so ever since.

Currently, he is on staff at 12Stone church in Lawrenceville, Ga.
Elliott and his wife, Hillary, live in downtown Atlanta where Hillary works as the territorial anti-trafficking coordinator for The Salvation Army.
