Sugarloaf United Methodist Church

Picture this: You're sitting in your car in your Newcomer parking space at SUMC for the first time. There are lots of cars and tons of people you’ve never seen in your life headed into the building.

We really understand that the very first visit is definitely the hardest part but we’re here to help.Let us help you take that next giant step.

Let’s run through a quick list of simple first visit helps:

  • Arrive early, especially if you're introducing your children to the Sugarloaf Kids, Youth or nursery areas.

  • Ask a parking attendant for "Newcomer Parking."

  • Head straight in the front doors and check out the Connections Café or get information at the Guest Services Information desk.  The stairs to the Worship Center are located right at the front door, but there is also an elevator to the right of the café for your convenience.  Grab all the printed stuff that interests you including the Newcomer Site Map.  Guest Services desks are located on both the upper and lower levels of the worship center, so feel free to ask directions, or for any other help you might need.  Both the Door Greeters and the Guest Services Teams are there to serve you and help you in anyway they can.

  • Enter the Worship Center and find a comfortable seat. Remember to turn off your cell phone! On your way in you'll be handed an Order of Worship. Check out the green section inside for a welcome and a little more information on what to expect during the worship service.

  • In the Order Of Worship you'll find a Keep In Touch card. Fill it out and drop it in the offering plate if you want:

    1. More information
    2. To be on our mailing list
    3. To request prayer, or
    4. to recieve our weekly email called "What Happening".

  • Giving at Sugarloaf is a commitment made by our members and those who attend regularly. For now, you're our guest. Feel no obligation to give. If you decide to make Sugarloaf your church home, you can register online for online giving, or contact our church administrator with other options for giving.

  • Don't rush out, for heaven's sake! Take some time to stop by Guest Services and meet our Director of Newcomer, Membership and Connections Ministries; Bev Manson. She would love to meet you and answer your questions. Don't be shy! She sure isn't! Ask her anything, and she will do her best to help you!
